Strep Throat/Cardiac Disease

Strep throat or streptococcal is an infection to the throat.A way to know if you have it is if you have stomach pain, fever, and swollen tonsils that turn red.It is caused the same way you get a cold...you catch it.If not treated it can be deadly.Antibiotics should HELP cure it.If you have it you need a lot of rest and fluids. It is most common between kids from 5-15.More symptoms are loss of appetite rashes or nausea. If you think you or your child has it call your doctor.He/She will do a rapid strep test.Your child must finish the medicine that is prescribed. If they stop taking it to soon the bacteria will stay in the throat and in the system. In some cases it goes to the heart. For this experience i had i suggest listening to the doctor. Its really good to listen!!!

OK so we talked about what it is but what happens if it goes to the heart? That's what i got an i regret not taking the medicine. In fifth grade(I'm in seventh now)something started happening to me.My toe got really swollen and red. When it was a few weeks into the month of October i started feeling really terrible.I missed about a month of school. They put a tube down my throat because my tonsils were red and swollen. One day i had to go somewhere to get a tube down my stomach. They called my house and said that i had to go to the hospital.Apparently my doctor(Dr.Steinfeld) said that my heart was swollen and that my liver that was at the edge of my stomach was going to explode. They got me to Mount Sinai(best hospital ever!!)and they cured me fast. The hospital treated me awsome!Ihad to get a medicine called penecilin.I had cardiovascular Disease.Another thing was that my valves were leaking.
